The Geothermal Upgrade Event is a rebate program open to U.S. residents who either own and enjoy Geostar equipment, or own any competitor’s geothermal system. Geothermal owners wishing to take part in this exciting event, must purchase a new Envision, Synergy3D, or Envision Series Split (and Air Handler) system from a participating Geostar dealer on or before March 31, 2011.

Your new Geostar system qualifies for a federal tax credit equal to 30% of installation costs.

Rebate Schedule for Existing Equipment
Geostar Equipment:
      1-10 years old = $2000
      Over 10 years old = $1000

Any other brand of geothermal heat pump, regardless of age - $1000

How the Program Works

  1. Contact a participating Geostar dealer to schedule a time to replace your existing equipment.
  2. After installation your participating Geostar dealer will provide you a certificate stating the system meets or exceeds the Energy Star requirements in place at the time of installation (Keep this for tax purposes).
  3. Your dealer will also provide you with a copy of the rebate form. Fill in your personal information and mail/fax it to the address/fax number provided on the form by April 30th. Your rebate check will arrive within 60 days.
  4. When tax season rolls around use IRS Form 5695 to claim your tax credit.

 ...Simple as that.
